Keith was the first Dane County Attorney to be awarded “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Wisconsin Association for Justice (formerly Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers), and remains one of only a select few lawyers given that honor.
Keith is a Charter Fellow of the American College of Board Certified Attorneys. A board certified attorney has demonstrated skill and expertise in a particular field and has proven it through trial experience, rigorous examination and testing by an accredited organization. He is a Director of the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA), which awards national board certification to attorneys based on high standards of excellence, competence and integrity. He currently is President-elect of the NBTA.
Keith is a nationally board certified Civil Trial Specialist as accredited by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as well as by the National Board of Civil Pre-Trial Practice Advocacy. He has been routinely rated among Madison, Wisconsin’s Top Lawyers in personal injury and medical malpractice law by the Madison Magazine Attorneys Poll and recognized in "Best Lawyers in America." He is ranked among the top 5% of all Wisconsin lawyers as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer.
Keith received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a frequent lecturer on medical-legal issues and trial advocacy. Among other professional appointments, Keith has served on the Wisconsin State Legislature Special Committee on Jury Service, the District 9 Subcommittee of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility, and was Chair of the City of Madison Board of Ethics.
Keith is a former President of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers and former member of the Council of Presidents of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
