KEITH R. CLIFFORD is the senior shareholder of Clifford & Raihala. His trial practice focuses in the areas of personal injury, professional malpractice and general civil litigation.
Keith was the first Dane County Attorney to be awarded “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Wisconsin Association for Justice and remains one of only a select few lawyers given that honor.
Keith is a Charter Fellow of the American College of Board Certified Attorneys. A board certified attorney has demonstrated skill and expertise in a particular field and has proven it through trial experience, rigorous examination and testing, and peer review. He is a Past President and current Director of the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA), which awards national board certification to attorneys based on high standards of excellence, competence, integrity and ethics.
Keith is nationally double board certified by the NBTA as a Civil Trial Specialist and in Civil Pre-Trial Practice Advocacy. He has been routinely rated among Madison, Wisconsin’s Top Lawyers in personal injury and professional malpractice law by the Madison Magazine Attorneys Poll and recognized in “Best Lawyers in America.” He is ranked among the top 5% of all Wisconsin lawyers as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer and is nationally rated as an AV Preeminent Attorney.
Keith received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. He is a frequent lecturer on medical-legal issues and trial skills and advocacy. Among other professional appointments, Keith has served on the Wisconsin State Legislature Special Committee on Jury Service, the District 9 Subcommittee of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility. He was Chair of the City of Madison Board of Ethics where he served for 17 years.
